Keins College Of Education

 The KEINS College of Education for Women is managed by Ken a-z Educational and Industrial Society (abbreviated as KEINS). KEINS is set up with a noble vision and has taken on an array of missions. KEINS, being a trailblazer in many social endeavours, started the path-breaking KEINS Kindergarten School in 1979, when English education did not earn much popularity in villages.

 With a vision to broaden the scope of the services, a society was established in 1984 and the Kindergarten school was subsequently upgraded to KEINS Matriculation Higher Secondary School. In 1990, seeing the enormous need for trained teachers in our country, a Teacher Training Institute, duly recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu and the NCTE, was established. Further, to cater to the needs of the fastgrowing society, KEINS CBSE School, with all modern infrastructural facilities and amenities, was established in 2015

 The college is recognized by the Govt. of Tamil Nadu. The college possesses recognition of the National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi, vide letter No. R/SRO/NCTE/B.Ed./2006-2007/7326 dated 30.08.2006. The college was originally affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, vide order No. MSU/CD/FA/2006 dated: 29.01.2007 and No. MSU/CD/Cont. Aff./Ed/2007-08 dated 22.11.2007. Now the college is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, Chennai, vide order No. TNTEU/R/Affln.-Contn/2009-2010/ 959, dated 18-11-2009. The college is granted Continuation of Affiliation by the Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, vide order NoTNTEU/ Contn. Affln./2021 dated 02-12-2021.

 The Chairman of the college of education, Prof. S. Selvanayagam is a Post Graduate in Physics from the prestigious American college, Madurai. After post graduation, he joined the T.D.M.N.S. College of Arts and Science, T. Kallikulam in June, 1972. He worked as Demonstrator in Physics for 5 years, then as Assistant Professor for 20 years and as a Professor for 7 years. He has 32 years of rich experience in the field of higher education.

Objectives

Practice world class teacher education and use this as a method of teacher empowerment.

Practice a skill-oriented and technology-centered teacher education to develop a team of teachers who can practice the profession successfully in any part of the world.

A sense of discipline and moral values among teachers by developing competence to evolve solutions for some of the burning problems faced by the present day society.

Evolve new methodologies for teacher education which will help teachers to develop organizational skills through teamwork, collaboration and co-operation.

Develop and practice a teacher education programme to empower the disadvantaged and the marginalized sections of society.

Develop a humanistic model of teacher education which will help to reform the minds of the teachers through new practices.

Help nearby schools and lower level teacher education institutions to get acquainted with new knowledge relating to teacher education and use of research practices for solving problems faced by such institutions.

Develop communication skills, computer skills and life skills among student teachers.

High quality education

To provide high quality education, monitor Teacher Education as approved by National Council for Teacher Education at all levels in the State.

To promote an awareness and understanding of the social needs of the country in the students and teachers and prepare them for fulfilling such needs.

Quality in Teacher Education

To promote quality in Teacher Education and to standardize the system of operation.

Confer Honorary Degrees

To confer honorary degrees in teacher education in the prescribed manner and under conditions prescribed.
